To the love of my life

To my loving husband,

Today I woke up next to you as we have been doing for the past years and it is something I will always cherish and look forward to for the rest of my life. We've had bad days but we also had the best ones!

We've gone through a lot of changes, made a lot of sacrifices and for me they are all worth it because I can see how our love for each other transformed our children and the people around us.

Your being a good son and kuya has made the kind of husband you are to me and the kind of father you are to our kids. Loving yet firm, caring yet principled.

Somehow daddy, you make me want to do more than I can. You've taught me that nothing is impossible as long as I put my heart and mind to it. Thank you for giving me room to grow, for supporting my endeavors. For cheering me up and cheering me on. You are my pillar of strength, my oasis, the love of my life, and half of my soul!

Happy Anniversary to us! May our tremendous love, respect, and happiness outlive us and pour over to the generation that will come from us. There is none other. For me, there is only you!

Simple joys

Happiness is a page rank that has gone from 69,541 to 70,025 and an Alexa rank from 9,003,761 to 4,791,870 in just 3 days! Wow! (again little triumphs)

And d’you know what else? J

I started my first blog 8 years ago, twelve days after my wedding anniversary. I vaguely remember why I started blogging but what I can recall though was that I was first introduced to it by a former colleague. I started one but it was without heart so I stopped trying.

Years later my husband encouraged me to start blogging but I was clueless as to what topic I should focus on. Then one day I realized that perhaps I could do a diary type of blog where I can talk about my journey as a call center mommy or just plain blabber about my day with my kids and whatnot. So blogging happened. Fast forward to 2016 and am still doing the blog dance J.  I might have been in and out of the blogosphere but nonetheless I come back to it like a foodie who keeps coming back for ice cream!

My 9th blogging year and my wedding anniversary is about two months away so am thinking of a fun thing to do on these two important dates this coming August. So watch out for that! I’ve been revisiting my first ever blog From the diary of a call center Mom and been teary eyed one moment and smiling with mirth the next. So, I’d like to share with you some of those links. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I did revisiting.

When God Made You...

I came across this music video while looking for a good Wedding Anniversary song, a special occasion that my husband and I celebrate today.  The song speaks so much of my thoughts every time I realize how lucky I am to have a husband who loves me unconditionally.  Ours is a marriage built on a foundation that we continue to strengthen through our daily struggles, our fervent dreams, and the love that we have for our family.

I will always thank the Lord for that one day when he decided it was time for us to meet. I can no longer imagine my past, my present nor my future without you.  I love you and will always do, for the rest of my life...to infinity and beyond!  Happy Anniversary to us my husband! You are that one reason why nobody can ever break me!

Watch this and listen to the words....this is my heart speaking to yours   :)

The Eight of the Eight

Photo borrowed

"We fought all day about whether the pyramids were majestic or 'magnificent. It was magic. Twenty-eight years. I woke up every day smiling." this was Richard Dreyfuss' dialogue as he played Irv in the movie "My Life in Ruins". I am quoting this because it reminded me of my own marriage. My husband and I would debate most times about a lot of stuff but it has always been done in jest. And everyday since the day I married him, I have always woke up smiling. (<= Click here for a review of my previous Anniversary blog)

Today we celebrate our Wedding anniversary and as we celebrate we recall the first time we became friends, fell in love, and eventually got married. As husband and wife, we celebrate everything, our triumph and failures, our imperfections, our dreams... while we continue to build our family as partners, friends, lovers, and parents. We celebrate this day and look forward to more years of togetherness.

We had dinner at Applebee's Restaurant (similar to TGIF which my husband says jokingly, is the big brother of Jollibee) by the Corniche in Al Khobar. Had the weather been cooler and the place conducive to strolling, I would have insisted that we walk around Corniche ala HHWW (Holding Hands While Walking). But the weather is so humid that after dinner we just went home with a bag of donuts for our children.

Unlike back home it's difficult to find a good Anniversary card here that I had to improvise and make one and send my husband an e-card as well for good measure :) We received interactive homemade cards from our children too!

Happy Anniversary to us my dearest husband! You were the only one who taught me about courage, about unconditional love,...while I sold myself short you saw my imperfections as trivial. Thank you! May God in His infinite kindness bless this day and our marriage as He has done this very same day so many years ago and always....
